This Week in Pictures

This week has been a bit more relaxed and certainly less fraught than last week. Ivy has been a lot more chilled and well behaved so I don't know if the last couple of weeks have been a result of the hand, food and mouth virus still hanging around and making her moody, or whether consistent discipline and patience has paid off...children certainly keep us on our toes!

Sunday
We had a long, exhausting but good day on Sunday. Church in the morning was really encouraging and then we had baptisms at the beach in the afternoon. We had friends come back to our house straight after to watch the end of Wimbledon, but I spent an hour of that melting in a hot car while the girls napped (it back-fired because Ivy was bouncing off the walls until 10pm). Then it was church again in the evening and we caught up with an old uni friend afterwards.

Monday
It rained all day so Ivy and I did loads of crafts and cooking to pass the time including celebrating a new Hairy Maclary book by doing a colourful painting and making pancakes for lunch. We had a health visitors appointment in the afternoon.

Tuesday
Ivy was with the child minder in the morning so I caught up with chores in the morning and went out to lunch with Josh. I felt super tired in the afternoon (I think the weekend was catching up with me) so the hours stretched out until bedtime as it was still raining!

Wednesday
Ivy went to play with a friend from church which was a sanity saver as I was feeling exhausted and was able to get a few jobs finished that had been hanging over me for weeks. I sorted all of the girls out-grown clothes (a most hated job!) and got all sentimental about putting Alys' newborn clothes into storage.
I took Alys to be weighed at the health visitor in the afternoon (she's 12lbs now!) and then we had a fun evening cooking bacon on a river bank and enjoying the sunshine (photos to come).

Thursday
Always a manic day...we had toddler group in the morning, followed by coffee and cakes at one of our churches and then ladies bible study.

Friday
A quieter day...we played and did chores in the morning and went out for a walk in the afternoon. The girls have been sleeping much better in the evenings this week so as Josh was working I celebrated with tea, Netflix and a chocolate ├ęclair.

Saturday
We had a much needed family day-off and went for a long walk along the Pembrokeshire coast path and ticked some things off my bucket-list (post about that to come soon!). It was a fantastic, although exhausting day. I really need to get fitter if I'm going to do this baby wearing malarkey!

  1. It definitely sounds like you had a nice relaxing week. Love all the crafting and baking! It's great when there is time during the week to do these activities with the kids. Your picture of the chocolate eclair has just made me really want one, and it's on 8am on Sunday!! :) #TWTWC

  3. MMmmm some lovely food photos this week. I think I stared at that eclair for a good 5 minutes! ;)

That photo of you guys enjoying the river bank is beautiful. I also get very sentimental about putting away baby clothes. BUT I also use it a excuse to go buy more! ;)
