We have been living in our new house for over a week now and I cannot believe how quickly it has gone.
We spent the first couple of days blitzing the unpacking. It was utterly exhausting and I’m not sure where I found to motivation to carry on until all the boxes were gone but by Thursday evening we were all unpacked and the house was relatively tidy.
On Friday my Mum arrived to babysit Ivy for the weekend as Josh and I were attending some Hen and Stag dos in the Midlands. It was a really fun time and a great way to relax after moving, but I still feel like I need to catch up on several hours sleep!
This week we have been taking things fairly slowly and have really enjoyed going for some long walks and exploring the beaches. I cannot tell you what a joy it is to have countryside on our doorstep again. I love that we can pop out to the beach after dinner and before Ivy’s bedtime on warm summer evenings!
Josh’s ordination is on Saturday and he left for his ordination retreat today. I’m feeling a bit weird to be home alone and the fact that we don’t know anyone here is sinking in but we have family arriving later this week so I hope the time will pass quickly.
Although I’m not wishing the ordination away I’m looking forward to next week when ‘real life’ begins. It just feels bizarre because we don’t really know what Josh’s work timetable is going to look like practically and what I’ll be doing with my days. For my OCD planning mind this is difficult to handle but we just need to take a day at a time.
Next time I write I’ll be married to a vicar!
