About the weekend

- Last week we were in Devon for some much needed rest and relaxation. It was great to see family, eat good food and visit some countryside. Ivy got to meet her Great-Nanny and Great Auntie and Uncle for the first time too.

- My heart has felt very burdened today with the news from the Boston Marathon, the bombs in Baghdad, the earthquake in Iran and the many other stories of killing and tragedy filling our newspapers. It’s so easy to go about day-to-day activities and block out the terrible things in life but today it all feels very real and close to home.
My brother has written a post reflecting on the Boston Marathon bombings which you can find here.

- Incidentally my brother is running the London Marathon next week for the great charity Christian Aid. I would love it if you would consider sponsoring him – you can find his giving page here

- A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who replied to my blog post last week, either through comment or email. You guys are amazing and it’s at times like this I love blogging and the community it brings! I’m feeling a bit better after our time away and I’m trying to plan something fun to do each day to give me something to look forward to, as well as get more fresh air, eat well and use the computer less! Sunshine makes everything seem better doesn’t it?!

  1. Glad you are feeling a little better. Planning something fun and getting out each day sounds good, and should be much more do-able now the weather is improving. Ivy will enjoy it and should sleep better too!

  2. Love you Rach :). Keep trusting and keep the faith! He will lead you through these times. And then sometime in the future, you'll be able to share what you've learnt with other people! It is such an amazing gift to do that! xx
