A tip for packing for a baby

baby_travelling_tips

One of the things I hate most about travelling is living out of a suitcase.

My organised little mind can’t take the turmoil of trying to find a clean pair of socks in the explosion of clothes which is inevitable after our case has been rifled through for a week or more.

Add baby clothes into the mix and you have a disaster.

Do you know how small baby socks are?!

Recently I’ve come up with a solution; baby clothes and zip-lock bags – it WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

Before we go away I organise all of Ivy’s outfits – day and night – and put them all into separate zip-lock bags, one for each day.
That way you only need to grab one bag in the morning and you’re sorted. No searching through the case for matching cardigans, socks or accessories. It’s all there.
AND it means that Josh can get her dressed without worrying about finding a matching outfit {because let’s be honest – he doesn’t really care and just wants to get on with his day!}

They’re also super easy to pack. If you squash them down they’ll act like vacuum bags and will just stack on top of one another.

Now I just need to find some bags big enough for my outfits!

Have you got any good tips for travelling with a baby? Please share in the comments!

  1. That is a great idea! I never even thought of putting outfits into ziplock bags. I think when we go on vacation with two kiddos I'll have to do this - it'll make it way easier!

  3. Another tip is to use Ziplock bags to keep extra clothes in the diaper bag. It's not only convenient when in a hurry, but it also keeps the clothes clean and dry from any accidental spills.

  4. No matter how young, bring some comforts from home (besides mom) like blankets, favorite toys, etc.

  8. You can use grocery bags for your outfits. Put each day in one bag, and you can write on the bag what day you will wear it. Then you can use the same bag for dirty clothes :) I love the ziplock bag idea for baby things I have been trying to figure out something, I will definitely be using this!
