Welcome, Ivy Elizabeth!

Welcome! Let me introduce our new little daughter Ivy Elizabeth!

Since Thursday our lives have been changed wholly and completely by this little bundle of new life.
I came home from hospital on Friday evening. I’m having a bit of a rough recovery and it was quite quick for me to be coming out of hospital but I just wanted to be able to relax at home and have Josh with me overnight.

Labour, birth and parenthood has been just so completely different from what I have imagined or could planned for in a million years.

We have seen God’s goodness and blessings in so many different ways. I find it so overwhelming how many prayers he has answered.
There have been some really tough moments – our boiler breaking down when we arrived home {no hot water or heating for a while!} and Josh having a fainting attack last night {We've survived the night!} being the main ones – but overall we are just loving this new adventure and feel so blessed to have a healthy little girl in our care. She’s sleeping and eating well and we’re trying to work it all out as we go along!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone for their support, visits, texts, comments and facebook messages. We love that you are so excited about Ivy too!

I hope to post more soon and I desperately want to record our birth story but have underestimated baby brain and how much it makes you feel like you’re wading through treacle all the time! I’ll be spending some time just getting to know our little girl – but hope to catch up with you all soon.

Big love from the three of us!

  7. So So happy for you guys. I will continue praying for your recovery and entrance into the world of Mommyhood. I'm sure you'll learn the ropes soon (they're different for every woman out there) and be back on your feet in no time...or 6 weeks. Whichever comes first :)

  10. I completely understand the lack of birth story. My little girl's didn't get fully recorded until she hit 9 months. Enjoy your precious little Ivy (what a lovely name!) and don't feel blog-ligated to post tons until both you and baby are cozy comfy & well-rested.
