Planning the Summer

This summer has totally crept up on me.
We’ve been so focussed on getting to the end of term and Josh working on essays and exams that I barely looked at my diary past May.
I just assumed that with Josh having such a long summer break from university we would have loads of time to do things and prepare for the baby, but it turns out that we’re all booked up right until September. Argh!

Well – I say ‘we’, actually it’s just Josh. He’s doing a schools placement in June, an intensive Welsh course for the whole of July and then has a three week church placement in Pembrokeshire in August.
I’m trying not to worry about it before it actually happens because it probably won’t be as bad as I’m thinking, but I’m a little bit anxious about him being so busy while my diary stays comparably empty.
I’m planning on going down to Devon to stay with my parents while he’s in Pembrokeshire as I don’t fancy being at home on my own when I’m really pregnant.
It’s not all work though…at the end of June we’re going away with some friends to the Peak District for five days and I’m really looking forward to it.
AND
WE JUST BOOKED A YURT HOLIDAY! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!
Having gone through our diary and realised we only had a few free days left before the baby arrives we decided to book up a short break glamping in a yurt. We stayed in one a couple of years ago and I LOVED it.
I think they call it a babymoon don’t they?!

I have to finalise my maternity leave with work in the next couple of weeks which is a bit weird. It’s all becoming very real now! I only work part time and with Josh being so busy it makes sense for me to work throughout the summer. I’m going to take some holiday in August and then officially finish three weeks before the due date.

I love organising the summer! So much potential for fun!
