Down in the dumps

I haven’t really blogged about it but recently I’ve been in a funk.

I’m pretty much ready to get over it sometime soon.

…annnnytime now would be good….

Regular readers will know that I often get like this over winter. My office doesn’t have any windows and if it rains on my day off for a few weeks and I can’t get out into the sun it slowly sends me a little bit crazy.

I’ve also been ill for the last five days which hasn’t helped matters.

It frustrates me so much! I’m normally a pro-active person, feeling my best when I’m rushing around achieving things, but when I’m like this I just can’t be bothered to do anything. I don’t feel like cooking, or writing, or taking photos, or going to work, or being creative.

I’ve been forcing myself to do these things anyway, but it hasn’t seemed to help.

..Until today that is. The sun was shining and we had a Welsh class in the morning and by the time I got back to my office it was actually warm enough to take my cardigan off! Without feeling chilled to the bone I actually enjoyed working this afternoon.
I do hope I will be back to my normal self soon! Roll on the spring!

Incidentally, today’s question over at the All you need is love blog challenge and swap that I’m participating in this February is:

When I'm feeling down, to cheer myself up I {LOVE} to..

- Get out into the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful creation around me
- Listen to some worship music
- Curl up with a cup of tea, some snacks and a good book.
- Snuggle in bed with my Hubby and a Southern Comfort and watch ridiculous amount of 24
- Spend time with my family

Quick Questions

1. Do your moods get affected by the seasons?
2. What are you best solutions for getting out of a funk?

  1. The whether totally affects my mood! They make specific light bulbs that you can buy which totally help. I also find that going outside everyday (even if it's freezing) helps.

  3. Hope you feel back to yourself soon!

Yes, I do get affected by the seasons sometimes. Especially when my husband and I had later hours, we would never see the sun in winter! It was fine for a while, but I think it did start making me depressed.
